We would not be where we are today without our amazing team of volunteers! We are always looking for people who want to support youth club sessions at Canolfan Owain Glyndwr. We would also like to hear from any local people interested in being on our committee.

 

We aim to have 5 volunteers at every weekly session to support the Youth Worker and Youth Worker Assistant. We would expect you to attend once every 2 - 3 weeks. On any one evening you might be playing ping pong, ukuleles, football or Jenga; running an arts and crafts session, or supporting a young person to DJ or to make a cheese toastie! You don’t have to be expert at anything to be one of our volunteers, what is important to us is that you enjoy chatting with, listening to and getting to know the young people who attend sessions.

 

We require all volunteers to undergo a DBS check and Safeguarding Training, and to understand and help implement the IMY Behaviour Code. We also provide free extra training (e.g. Emergency First Aid) when we can, and encourage volunteers to give us feedback, suggestions and ideas on a regular basis.
